잠언 1장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

   1 다윗의 아들, 이스라엘 왕 솔로몬의 잠언이라.

2. 2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

   2 이것은 지혜와 훈계를 알게 하고 명철의 말씀들을 파악하게 하며

3. 3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

   3 지혜와 정의와 판단의 공의와 공평의 훈계를 받게 하고

4. 4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

   4 단순한 자들에게 민감함을 주며 젊은 자에게 지식과 분별을 주기 위한 것이니

5. 5 A wise [man] will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

   5 지혜로운 자는 듣고 학식을 더할 것이요, 명철한 자는 지혜로운 계략들을 얻어

6. 6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

   6 잠언과 해석과 지혜로운 자들의 말들과 그들의 은밀한 말들을 깨달으리라.

7. 7 The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise wisdom and instruction.

   7 ¶ 주를 두려워하는 것이 지식의 시작이나 어리석은 자들은 지혜와 훈계를 멸시하느니라.

8. 8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

   8 내 아들아, 네 아버지의 훈계를 듣고 네 어머니의 법을 버리지 말라.

9. 9 For they [shall be] an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

   9 그것들이 네 머리에 은혜의 장식이 되고 네 목에 사슬이 되리라.

10. 10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

    10 ¶ 내 아들아, 죄인들이 너를 꾈지라도 너는 동의하지 말라.

11. 11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

    11 그들이 말하기를, 우리와 함께 가자. 우리가 숨어 기다리다가 피를 흘리자. 우리가 무죄한 자를 까닭 없이 몰래 숨어서 기다리다가

12. 12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

    12 무덤같이 그들을 산 채로 삼키고 구덩이로 내려가는 자들같이 통째로 삼키자.

13. 13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

    13 우리가 모든 귀한 재물을 찾아서 노략물로 우리의 집들을 채우리니

14. 14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

    14 너의 제비를 우리 가운데서 뽑고 우리가 다 돈주머니를 하나만 두자, 할지라도

15. 15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

    15 내 아들아, 너는 그들과 함께 그 길로 다니지 말라. 네 발을 금하여 그들의 행로에서 떠나라.

16. 16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

    16 이는 그들의 발이 악을 향해 달려가며 피를 흘리려고 서두르기 때문이니라.

17. 17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

    17 새가 보는 데서 그물을 치는 것은 확실히 허사니라.

18. 18 And they lay wait for their [own] blood; they lurk privily for their [own] lives.

    18 그들이 자기 피를 흘리려고 숨어서 기다리며 자기 생명을 해치려고 몰래 숨어서 기다리나니

19. 19 So [are] the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; [which] taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

    19 이익을 탐하는 모든 자의 길들도 이러하여 그 이익이 그것의 소유자들의 생명을 앗아 가느니라.

20. 20 Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

    20 ¶ 지혜가 밖에서 외치며 거리에서 자기 목소리를 내고

21. 21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, [saying],

    21 군중이 모이는 중요한 곳과 성문 광장에서 외치며 도시 안에서 자기 말들을 내어 이르되,

22. 22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

    22 단순한 자들아, 너희가 어느 때까지 단순함을 사랑하겠느냐? 비웃는 자들이 어느 때까지 자기들의 비웃는 것을 기뻐하고 어리석은 자들이 어느 때까지 지식을 미워하겠느냐?

23. 23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

    23 너희는 내 책망의 말을 듣고 돌아서라. 보라, 내가 내 영을 너희에게 부어 주며 내 말들을 너희에게 알려 주리라.

24. 24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

    24 ¶ 내가 불렀으나 너희가 거절하였고 내가 내 손을 내밀었으나 아무도 중시하지 아니하였으며

25. 25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

    25 도리어 너희가 내 모든 권고를 무시하고 내 책망을 전혀 원치 아니하였으므로

26. 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

    26 나도 너희의 재난을 볼 때에 웃을 것이며 너희의 두려움이 닥칠 때에 조롱하리니

27. 27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

    27 너희의 두려움이 황폐함같이 닥치고 너희의 멸망이 회오리바람같이 닥치며 너희에게 고난과 번민이 닥칠 때에 내가 그리하리라.

28. 28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

    28 그때에 그들이 나를 부르겠지만 내가 대답하지 아니할 것이며 그들이 일찍 나를 찾아도 나를 발견하지 못하리니

29. 29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

    29 이는 그들이 지식을 미워하고 주 두려워하기를 택하지 아니하며

30. 30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

    30 내 권고를 전혀 원치 아니하고 내 모든 책망을 멸시하였기 때문이니라.

31. 31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

    31 그러므로 그들이 자기 길의 열매를 먹으며 자기 계략들로 채워지리니

32. 32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

    32 이는 단순한 자들의 돌이켜 떠나감이 그들을 죽일 것이며 어리석은 자들의 번영이 그들을 파멸시킬 것이기 때문이라.

33. 33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

    33 그러나 누구든지 내 말에 귀를 기울이는 자는 안전히 거하며 재난의 두려움에서 벗어나 평온하리라, 하느니라.
