다니엘 1장 [ASV]

1. 1 유다 왕 여호야김의 통치 제삼년에 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살이 예루살렘으로 와서 그곳을 에워쌌더니

   1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.

2. 2 주께서 유다 왕 여호야김과 하나님의 집 기구들 중 일부를 그의 손에 넘겨주시매 그가 그것들을 시날 땅에 있는 자기 신의 집으로 가져다가 그 기구들을 자기 신의 보고에 들여놓았더라.

   2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God; and he carried them into the land of Shinar to the house of his god: and he brought the vessels into the treasure-house of his god.

3. 3 ¶ 왕이 자기 내시들의 우두머리 아스부나스에게 말하여 그가 이스라엘 자손과 왕의 씨와 통치자들 중에서 몇 사람

   3 And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring in (certain) of the children of Israel, even of the seed royal and of the nobles;

4. 4 곧 흠 없이 잘생기고 모든 지혜에 능숙하며 지식을 두루 갖추고 과학을 이해하여 왕의 궁궐에 설 만한 능력을 갖춘 아이들을 데려오게 하고 사람들이 그들에게 갈대아 사람들의 학문과 말을 가르치게 하니라.

   4 youths in whom was no blemish, but well-favored, and skilful in all wisdom, and endued with knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability to stand in the kings palace; and that he should teach them the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

5. 5 또 왕이 그들에게 왕의 음식과 왕이 마시는 포도주에서 날마다 필요한 양식을 지정해 주고 이렇게 삼 년 동안 그들을 양육하였으니 이것은 삼 년이 끝날 때에 그들이 왕 앞에 서게 하려 함이었더라.

   5 And the king appointed for them a daily portion of the kings dainties, and of the wine which he drank, and that they should be nourished three years; that at the end thereof they should stand before the king.

6. 6 이때에 이들 가운데 유다 자손에 속한 다니엘과 하나냐와 미사엘과 아사랴가 있었는데

   6 Now among these were, of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.

7. 7 내시들의 통치자가 그들에게 이름을 주되 곧 그가 다니엘에게는 벨드사살이라는 이름을 주고 하나냐에게는 사드락, 미사엘에게는 메삭, 아사랴에게는 아벳느고라는 이름을 주었더라.

   7 And the prince of the eunuchs gave names unto them: unto Daniel he gave (the name of) Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, (of) Shadrach; and to Mishael, (of) Meshach; and to Azariah, (of) Abed-nego.

8. 8 ¶ 그러나 다니엘은 왕의 배정 음식이나 왕이 마시는 포도주로 자기를 더럽히지 않겠다고 마음속에 작정하였으므로 자기를 더럽히지 않으려고 내시들의 통치자에게 요청하였는데

   8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the kings dainties, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

9. 9 이때에 하나님께서 이미 다니엘이 내시들의 통치자에게 호의와 친절한 사랑을 받게 하셨으므로

   9 Now God made Daniel to find kindness and compassion in the sight of the prince of the eunuchs.

10. 10 내시들의 통치자가 다니엘에게 이르되, 내가 내 주 왕을 두려워하노라. 왕께서 너희의 먹을 것과 너희의 마실 것을 지정하셨는데 너희 얼굴이 너희 부류에 속한 아이들보다 못한 것을 그분께서 보셔야 할 까닭이 무엇이냐? 그리되면 너희가 왕으로 인해 내 머리를 위태롭게 하리라, 하니

    10 And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your food and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse looking than the youths that are of your own age? so would ye endanger my head with the king.

11. 11 이에 다니엘이 멜살 곧 내시들의 통치자가 다니엘과 하나냐와 미사엘과 아사랴를 감독하게 하려고 세운 자에게 이르되,

    11 Then said Daniel to the steward whom the prince of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

12. 12 간청하건대 당신의 종들을 열흘 동안 시험하사 그들이 우리에게 콩을 주어 먹게 하고 물을 주어 마시게 한 뒤에

    12 Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.

13. 13 당신 앞에서 우리의 얼굴과 왕의 배정 음식을 먹는 아이들의 얼굴을 관찰하게 하시고 당신이 보시는 대로 당신의 종들에게 행하소서, 하매

    13 Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the youths that eat of the kings dainties; and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.

14. 14 이에 그가 이 일에 관해 그들의 말에 동의하여 열흘 동안 그들을 시험하였더라.

    14 So he hearkened unto them in this matter, and proved them ten days.

15. 15 열흘이 끝났을 때에 그들의 얼굴이 왕의 배정 음식을 먹은 모든 아이들보다 더욱 아름답고 살이 더욱 기름지게 보이므로

    15 And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer, and they were fatter in flesh, than all the youths that did eat of the kings dainties.

16. 16 그런 까닭에 멜살이 그들의 배정 음식과 그들이 마실 포도주를 거두어 가고 그들에게 콩을 주니라.

    16 So the steward took away their dainties, and the wine that they should drink, and gave them pulse.

17. 17 ¶ 이 네 아이들에 대해 말하자면 하나님께서 그들에게 지식을 주시고 모든 학문과 지혜에 능숙함을 주셨는데 다니엘은 모든 환상 계시와 꿈을 깨달아 알더라.

    17 Now as for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

18. 18 한편 그가 그들을 데리고 들어와야 한다고 왕이 말한 날들이 끝나매 그때에 내시들의 통치자가 그들을 느부갓네살 앞으로 데리고 들어오니

    18 And at the end of the days which the king had appointed for bringing them in, the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.

19. 19 왕이 그들과 대화하고 그들 모두 가운데서 다니엘과 하나냐와 미사엘과 아사랴 같은 자를 찾지 못하였으므로 그들이 왕 앞에 섰는데

    19 And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.

20. 20 왕이 지혜와 명철에 대한 모든 문제에 관하여 그들에게 묻고는 그들이 자기의 온 영토 안의 모든 마술사들과 별을 살피는 자들보다 열 배나 나은 것을 발견하니라.

    20 And in every matter of wisdom and understanding, concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his realm.

21. 21 다니엘은 고레스 왕의 제일년까지 계속해서 있었더라.

    21 And Daniel continued even unto the first year of king Cyrus.
