다니엘 1장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.

   1 유다 왕 여호야김의 통치 제삼년에 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살이 예루살렘으로 와서 그곳을 에워쌌더니

2. 2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the vessels of the house of God; and he brought them to the land of Shinar, to the house of his god, and placed the vessels in the treasury of his god.

   2 주께서 유다 왕 여호야김과 하나님의 집 기구들 중 일부를 그의 손에 넘겨주시매 그가 그것들을 시날 땅에 있는 자기 신의 집으로 가져다가 그 기구들을 자기 신의 보고에 들여놓았더라.

3. 3 Then the king commanded Ashpenaz, his chief eunuch, to bring some of the people of Israel, both of the royal family and of the nobility,

   3 ¶ 왕이 자기 내시들의 우두머리 아스부나스에게 말하여 그가 이스라엘 자손과 왕의 씨와 통치자들 중에서 몇 사람

4. 4 youths without blemish, handsome and skilful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding learning, and competent to serve in the kings palace, and to teach them the letters and language of the Chaldeans.

   4 곧 흠 없이 잘생기고 모든 지혜에 능숙하며 지식을 두루 갖추고 과학을 이해하여 왕의 궁궐에 설 만한 능력을 갖춘 아이들을 데려오게 하고 사람들이 그들에게 갈대아 사람들의 학문과 말을 가르치게 하니라.

5. 5 The king assigned them a daily portion of the rich food which the king ate, and of the wine which he drank. They were to be educated for three years, and at the end of that time they were to stand before the king.

   5 또 왕이 그들에게 왕의 음식과 왕이 마시는 포도주에서 날마다 필요한 양식을 지정해 주고 이렇게 삼 년 동안 그들을 양육하였으니 이것은 삼 년이 끝날 때에 그들이 왕 앞에 서게 하려 함이었더라.

6. 6 Among these were Daniel, Hananiah, Misha-el, and Azariah of the tribe of Judah.

   6 이때에 이들 가운데 유다 자손에 속한 다니엘과 하나냐와 미사엘과 아사랴가 있었는데

7. 7 And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names: Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach, Misha-el he called Meshach, and Azariah he called Abednego.

   7 내시들의 통치자가 그들에게 이름을 주되 곧 그가 다니엘에게는 벨드사살이라는 이름을 주고 하나냐에게는 사드락, 미사엘에게는 메삭, 아사랴에게는 아벳느고라는 이름을 주었더라.

8. 8 But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the kings rich food, or with the wine which he drank; therefore he asked the chief of the eunuchs to allow him not to defile himself.

   8 ¶ 그러나 다니엘은 왕의 배정 음식이나 왕이 마시는 포도주로 자기를 더럽히지 않겠다고 마음속에 작정하였으므로 자기를 더럽히지 않으려고 내시들의 통치자에게 요청하였는데

9. 9 And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief of the eunuchs;

   9 이때에 하나님께서 이미 다니엘이 내시들의 통치자에게 호의와 친절한 사랑을 받게 하셨으므로

10. 10 and the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, "I fear lest my lord the king, who appointed your food and your drink, should see that you were in poorer condition than the youths who are of your own age. So you would endanger my head with the king."

    10 내시들의 통치자가 다니엘에게 이르되, 내가 내 주 왕을 두려워하노라. 왕께서 너희의 먹을 것과 너희의 마실 것을 지정하셨는데 너희 얼굴이 너희 부류에 속한 아이들보다 못한 것을 그분께서 보셔야 할 까닭이 무엇이냐? 그리되면 너희가 왕으로 인해 내 머리를 위태롭게 하리라, 하니

11. 11 Then Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Misha-el, and Azariah;

    11 이에 다니엘이 멜살 곧 내시들의 통치자가 다니엘과 하나냐와 미사엘과 아사랴를 감독하게 하려고 세운 자에게 이르되,

12. 12 "Test your servants for ten days; let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink.

    12 간청하건대 당신의 종들을 열흘 동안 시험하사 그들이 우리에게 콩을 주어 먹게 하고 물을 주어 마시게 한 뒤에

13. 13 Then let our appearance and the appearance of the youths who eat the kings rich food be observed by you, and according to what you see deal with your servants."

    13 당신 앞에서 우리의 얼굴과 왕의 배정 음식을 먹는 아이들의 얼굴을 관찰하게 하시고 당신이 보시는 대로 당신의 종들에게 행하소서, 하매

14. 14 So he hearkened to them in this matter, and tested them for ten days.

    14 이에 그가 이 일에 관해 그들의 말에 동의하여 열흘 동안 그들을 시험하였더라.

15. 15 At the end of ten days it was seen that they were better in appearance and fatter in flesh than all the youths who ate the kings rich food.

    15 열흘이 끝났을 때에 그들의 얼굴이 왕의 배정 음식을 먹은 모든 아이들보다 더욱 아름답고 살이 더욱 기름지게 보이므로

16. 16 So the steward took away their rich food and the wine they were to drink, and gave them vegetables.

    16 그런 까닭에 멜살이 그들의 배정 음식과 그들이 마실 포도주를 거두어 가고 그들에게 콩을 주니라.

17. 17 As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all letters and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

    17 ¶ 이 네 아이들에 대해 말하자면 하나님께서 그들에게 지식을 주시고 모든 학문과 지혜에 능숙함을 주셨는데 다니엘은 모든 환상 계시와 꿈을 깨달아 알더라.

18. 18 At the end of the time, when the king had commanded that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.

    18 한편 그가 그들을 데리고 들어와야 한다고 왕이 말한 날들이 끝나매 그때에 내시들의 통치자가 그들을 느부갓네살 앞으로 데리고 들어오니

19. 19 And the king spoke with them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Misha-el, and Azariah; therefore they stood before the king.

    19 왕이 그들과 대화하고 그들 모두 가운데서 다니엘과 하나냐와 미사엘과 아사랴 같은 자를 찾지 못하였으므로 그들이 왕 앞에 섰는데

20. 20 And in every matter of wisdom and understanding concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom.

    20 왕이 지혜와 명철에 대한 모든 문제에 관하여 그들에게 묻고는 그들이 자기의 온 영토 안의 모든 마술사들과 별을 살피는 자들보다 열 배나 나은 것을 발견하니라.

21. 21 And Daniel continued until the first year of King Cyrus.

    21 다니엘은 고레스 왕의 제일년까지 계속해서 있었더라.
