에베소서 4장 [KJV]

1. 1 그러므로 주의 갇힌 자가 된 내가 너희에게 간청하노니 너희는 너희가 부르심을 받을 때에 얻은 소명에 합당하게 걷고

   1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

2. 2 모든 겸손과 온유와 오래 참음으로 사랑 안에서 서로 참아 주며

   2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

3. 3 화평의 매는 띠로 성령께서 하나가 되게 하신 것을 힘써 지키라.

   3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

4. 4 너희를 부르심의 한 소망 안에서 너희가 부르심을 받은 것같이 한 몸과 한 성령이 있고

   4 [There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

5. 5 한 주와 한 믿음과 한 침례가 있으며

   5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

6. 6 한 하나님이 계시니 곧 모든 것의 아버지시라. 그분께서는 모든 것 위에 계시고 모든 것에 두루 계시며 너희 모두 안에 계시느니라.

   6 One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all.

7. 7 그러나 그분께서 우리 각 사람에게 그리스도의 선물의 분량대로 은혜를 주셨나니

   7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

8. 8 그러므로 그분께서 이르시기를, 그분께서 높은 곳으로 올라가실 때에 포로로 잡힌 자들을 포로로 이끄시고 사람들에게 선물들을 주셨도다, 하시느니라.

   8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9. 9 (그런데 그분께서 올라가셨다는 것, 그것은 곧 그분께서 또한 먼저 땅의 더 낮은 부분들로 내려가셨다는 것이 아니면 무엇이냐?

   9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

10. 10 내려가신 분께서 또한 모든 하늘들보다 훨씬 위로 올라가신 바로 그분이시니 이것은 그분께서 모든 것을 충만하게 하려 하심이라.)

    10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

11. 11 그분께서 어떤 사람들은 사도로 어떤 사람들은 대언자로 어떤 사람들은 복음 전도자로 어떤 사람들은 목사 겸 교사로 주셨으니

    11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12. 12 이것은 성도들을 완전하게 하고 섬기는 일을 하게 하며 그리스도의 몸을 세우게 하려 하심이라.

    12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13. 13 이로써 마침내 우리가 다 믿음과 하나님의 아들을 아는 일에 하나가 되어 완전한 사람에 도달하며 그리스도의 충만하심의 장성한 분량에 이르리니

    13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

14. 14 이것은 우리가 이제부터 더 이상 아이가 되지 아니하여 사람들의 속임수와 몰래 숨어서 속이려 하는 자들이 사용하는 간교한 술수에 의해 교리의 모든 바람에 이리저리 흔들려 밀려다니지 아니하고

    14 That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15. 15 오히려 사랑 안에서 진리를 말하며 모든 일에 성장하여 그분께 다다르게 하려 함이라. 그분은 머리시니 곧 그리스도시니라.

    15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, [even] Christ:

16. 16 그분으로 말미암아 온몸은 각 부분이 분량대로 효력 있게 일함에 따라 모든 마디가 공급하는 것에 의해 꼭 맞게 함께 결합되고 꽉 차서 그 몸을 자라게 하여 사랑 안에서 스스로를 세우느니라.

    16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

17. 17 그러므로 내가 이것을 말하며 주 안에서 증언하노니 즉 이제부터 너희는 다른 이방인들이 그들의 헛된 생각 속에서 걷는 것같이 걷지 말라.

    17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

18. 18 그들은 지각이 어두워졌고 그들 속에 있는 무지와 그들의 마음이 눈먼 것으로 인해 하나님의 생명에서 떨어져 있도다.

    18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

19. 19 그들이 감각을 잃어 자기를 색욕에 내주며 탐욕을 내어 모든 부정한 것을 행하였으나

    19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

20. 20 너희는 그리스도를 그렇게 배우지 아니하였느니라.

    20 But ye have not so learned Christ;

21. 21 진리가 예수님 안에 있는 것같이 너희가 그분의 말씀을 듣고 그분에게서 가르침을 받았거든

    21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

22. 22 이전 행실에 관하여는 너희가 속이는 것으로 가득한 욕심들에 따라 부패한 옛 사람을 벗어 버릴 것을 가르침받았으니

    22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23. 23 너희의 생각의 영 면에서 새롭게 되라.

    23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24. 24 또 너희가 하나님을 따라 의와 참된 거룩함으로 창조된 새 사람을 입을 것을 가르침받았으니

    24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

25. 25 그러므로 거짓말을 버리고 각 사람이 자기 이웃과 더불어 진리를 말하라. 우리는 서로 지체들이니라.

    25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

26. 26 너희는 화를 내도 죄는 짓지 말며 해가 지도록 진노하지 말고

    26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27. 27 마귀에게 틈을 주지 말라.

    27 Neither give place to the devil.

28. 28 도둑질을 한 자는 더 이상 도둑질을 하지 말고 오히려 노동을 하여 궁핍한 자에게 줄 수 있도록 자기 손으로 선한 것을 할지니라.

    28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with [his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

29. 29 부패한 대화는 결코 너희 입 밖으로 내지 말고 오히려 세워 주는 일에 쓸 좋은 것만을 말하여 그것이 듣는 자들에게 은혜를 끼치게 하라.

    29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30. 30 하나님의 거룩하신 영을 슬프게 하지 말라. 그분에 의해 너희가 구속의 날까지 봉인되었느니라.

    30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31. 31 너희는 모든 쓴 것과 진노와 분노와 소리 지르는 것과 비방하는 것을 모든 악의와 함께 버리고

    31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

32. 32 서로 친절히 대하며 상냥한 마음을 품고 서로 용서하기를 하나님께서 그리스도로 인해 너희를 용서하신 것같이 하라.

    32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
